JAYDEN WARD, COUNSELING INTERN
Jayden is a Marriage and Family Intern who currently studies at Regent University. She has learned how to integrate faith into the counseling practice through her studies. She has a background of attending religious higher education that supports her ability to integrate faith into the counseling relationship. She is gaining experience at the Marriage Center by working closely with her supervisor, Arlene Malone. With this support, she can offer couples and families counseling sessions based on her experience and the knowledge of an experienced clinician.
Jayden utilizes the Gottman Method in her counseling approach to help couples strengthen love, friendship and connection. She helps couples build or rebuild a sturdy foundation to support the growing relationship. When providing individual counseling, she utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment to help the individual towards his or her goals. Jayden also offers (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) for premarital couples and couples who desire deeper connection and understanding in their relationship. Jayden is committed to establishing a trusting, safe relationship with her clients and helping them work towards accomplishing their goals for treatment by providing counseling that creates real, lasting change.
Jayden has a rich background in the topics of Domestic Violence and Blended Families. In her early experiences, she worked at a Domestic Violence shelter and became familiar with working with Domestic Violence victims. She assisted many clients with trauma work and crisis recovery. Additionally, she has an extensive background in clinical research and interventions for Blended Families. In her work with families, Jayden provides education and practical tools to help blended families navigate new family life and form a deep harmonious connection.
Jayden is committed to working towards her license and graduation. She received her bachelor’s degree at Point Loma Nazarene in Fine Arts and is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling from Regent University. She is an executive board member and Marriage and Family representative for the Counseling Honors Society, Chi Sigma Iota, Regent University chapter.
