    Michela Allen is a Resident in Counseling. She received her master’s degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University, a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Argosy University, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University.
    Michela has worked in the mental health and substance use field for 15 years. She was trained to provide clinical services to men and women with serious mental illness, to avert hospitalization, or as a step-down from a psychiatric hospital.

    Michela utilizes Cognitive Behavior therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and strength-based approaches to counseling. She provides individual counseling, marriage counseling, group therapy, and couples therapy. When helping persons with Christian faith, she incorporates a worldview based on God’s character of loving-kindness, compassion, and restoration. She integrates faith and person-centered practices to assist individuals in increasing their coping skills to address various life challenges. Her approach to counseling promotes discovering an individual’s passions, talents, and strengths while promoting healthy living.

    She offers individual, family, couples, and group counseling through in-person and online services.
